Young Nam
Young Nam is an executive with over 25 years in the technology and system integration markets with a diverse experience ranging from business and technical operations, product/service development to sales focused on large deal captures. Young has focused on the nexus of business economics/analysis and technology driven services to generate win strategies, new business models using his fluency in as-a-service business models technology and its financial drivers. He is an entrepreneurial and out-of-the-box thought leader oriented to creative deal structuring, solution optimization, partnering, negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners.
Most recently, Young was at Virtustream where he had a variety of SVP roles. Young stood up the company’s deal desk and implemented a comprehensive deal lifecycle governance process from opportunity qualification, solution development, price to win and Margin Review and Approvals. Young also led IaaS Cloud Operations and also produced the authoritative cost Models, Service Descriptions and SLAs for all the services. He was part of the leadership team that led the acquisition and integration of Virtustream into EMC, a transaction reported as being the #1 largest IT acquisition in 2015 by INC. Partnering with sales and pre-sales engineering in solution optimization, ROM to BAFO pricing journey and negotiations, deal margin analysis, price justification and business case he was part of the leadership team that achieved 5X revenue and 7X booking growth during his tenure. Passionate about increasing win rates of deals, he launched a Price to Win/Competitive solution/pricing comparison tool comparing Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud vs Virtustream offering leveraging deep domain knowledge of foundational Cloud services such as Virtual Machines, Storage, Back-up, security/compliance, SAP HANA, EPIC, and Application Managed Services.
Prior to Virtustream, Young spent a decade in the System Integration industry, mostly notably at Unisys and led major deal capture teams and achieved a remarkable near 100% win rate with over $ 700M in bookings over a 3 year period. Some of the notable wins were:

IRS Enterprise Storage as a Service ( $ 140M) in which Unisys developed/proposed a new As-a-Service business model and transitioned the IRS from owning and operating their own data storage platforms to a pay by the drink model and moving from Capex to Opex spending.

DOI SAP Cloud Service: $ 45M Task Order to migrate and operate DOI’s SAP enterprise environment to a public cloud partnering with Virtustream and was one of the first successful and largest deployment of SAP of an entire government agency to an Iaas Cloud
Young also founded or had senior positions in start-ups in wireless and broadband telecommunication services as well as management consulting for Booz Allen and Hamilton, business development for Verizon.
Young graduated with an MBA from the Wharton Business School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania.
